 WordMaster
is a English word finder software for Pocket PC dedicated to English learners
and word game players. It helps you to search words in many ways:

Search using patterns, wildcards or combinations of them. It has a very
powerful search language that you can use to find words you are not sure of.
Symbols to define search patterns include: ?
any single letter, * zero or more
letters , [abc] any letter in a
set, (abc) any combinations of
letters in a set - also called anagram , (3:abc)
any combinations with fixed length and {abc,xyz}
any predefined letter sequences.
The default word list consists of 74,550 common English dictionary words. Other
word lists are freely available for optional installations. WordMaster works
with our other dictionary sofware (WordBook or
Quick Lookup, not included) to bring definitions to the words (provided
as direct links).
What's Great about WordMaster: WordMaster performs search very quickly
no matter how big the lists is. Up to 4 million words can be stored in a list.
Word List data file is compressed to smallest possible (usually 1/3 of the
original size). The algorithm in WordMaster make the word data does not have to
be loaded to memory (the program works on the files directly), hence very
efficient for Pocket PC. Even when you are searching in 350 thousands english
words (equal to 4MB uncompressed, 1.3MB compressed), the software will never
occupy more than 400 kb of memory (a typical memory usage for Pocket PC
application).

Over 354,000 single words, excluding proper names, acronyms, or compound words
and phrases. This list does not exclude archaic words or significant variant
spellings. Beware, many words you may have never seen.

(1.97MB)
Over 256,700 hyphenated or other entries containing more than one word as well
as all capitalized words and acronyms. Phrases were considered 'common' if they
or variations of them occur in standard dictionaries or thesauruses.

A list of words permitted in crossword games such as Scrabble™*. Compatible
with the first edition of the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary™. Since this
list has all forms: -ing, -ed, -s, and so on of words, it makes a good when
using as a spelling dictionary.
